We Found the WHITE BASS! (Fly Fishing for White Bass)
Переглядів 4 тис.3 роки тому
Follow us on Instagram: @goodbuddyflyfishing . In the last video Jon and Steve went fly fishing for white bass in a little tributary near their house and found nothing. In this video they found redemption. Fly fishing for white bass is a short window that happens every spring as they migrate from the lakes up the tributaries to spawn. If you find them on the right day, it's GAME ON. In order to...
Chasing WHITE BASS and Getting SKUNKED (Stupid Chicken Livers...)
Переглядів 1,1 тис.3 роки тому
Follow us on Instagram: @goodbuddyflyfishing Every year in the Spring, white bass run out of the lakes of Georgia and into the surrounding tributaries. Catching white bass on the fly is thrilling since they usually fight hard and pod up in large numbers. But Jon and Steve wouldn't know because when they went fly fishing for white bass, there wasn't a fish to be found, nor could any other fisher...

The One Where They ACTUALLY CATCH FISH!
In dirty water either throw black or firetiger as they stand out better in those conditions. Good luck!
Mr Heimler, you're teaching me things even after I left my high school AP classes! Thank you for this hilarious surprise as I browsed UA-cam for flyfishing videos.
You do not need to set the hook that hard. Leaves the fish injured.
Please tell me you mean without Steve as he couldn’t fish today not that he passed
Cringe
Great video. Where do you guys put in and take out? Approximately how long is the float? Thanks in advance!
Fantastic video,great fun ?
I have my grandfather red south bend and father's Garcia used them in the early 80s use to catch rock Bass at the reservoir didn't use them for 20 years friends got camp up north brought them up there different kids been using them for years one of the guys keep em working
John, I like your chill attitude and I agreed with your idea to put the “good” fly on the Walmart rod. Good vibes 🤙
When are y'all coming back online?
They still not leaking bud
Make it fun, fish what you have. If it breaks, grab the other rod. Fun times.

I use an old Or us Bamboo. And. Catch fish
Damn. I just picked up a few GC's from The Fish Hawk to target some shoals, and now I'm feeling even less confident about this weekend lol.
Ready to get a 5 on the AP Fly Fishing exam!
What size rod and what nymphs were you using?
I'm new at this. What fly line or wait are you using for the game changer
Still using (and liking) this? Came across this just now as I'm considering trying this very pack (using a lumbar for 2-3 seasons now). Haven't fished any chest pack in a very long time but I'm considering!
Crux 1.5 litre with the magnetic tube holder. Works brilliantly.
POV: You have days off to revise your AP Hist exam That one friend during the days off: 0:25
Wish me luck on the AP World exam…
Heimler history!
ITS STEVE HEIMLER. FROM HEIMLERS HISTORY.
NEVER walk around on the dirt without your boots on! Good grief.
Best fishing is Hooch in Franklin Ga
Y’all got the good part of the hooch in Columbus ga it’s trash.
I pick up every old rod I can get and repair it, I fish almost every day with a different rod and reel
You look and sound a suspicious amount like Heimlers History
If you like a Georgia creek stocked with fat pigs fed by fish feeders everywhere then this is the place for you. No sport or experience needed.
That fish at 4:00 was gorgeous. Never seen that coloring before.
Like the thumb rest on your rod great idea!
How are they holding up? And which korkers boots do you have
I own vests [4] waist packs, sling packs, & small chest packs [ FP san juan] . Although for some situations still prefer a vest, hate the sling packs for all the reasons you cited, the waist pack is a pain, so I figured I d try this. You are 100% right. Love it but still fiddling with where to put " everything " . .. Wish they had put hypalon or d rings on the shoulders for nippers etc.
My dad used to say the fish doesn’t know what’s on the other end of the line. It’s just one jerk, waiting for another jerk.
Good video. I have fished that section without catching a thing. Sadly, I did walk up on some Cherokee Indians fishing that section with spinners and worms. I never went back.
Country club fishing.
That's all I use is vintage. I have way more fun than most and catch alot of fish compared to the guys that spend a fortune
Amusing, but I was actually hoping to see splitcane/bamboo and silk lines....
you guys are funny as as heck..🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
My only complaint is that there is no connection on the bottom of the pack for the Fishpond aluminum tippet spool holder like there is on the Thunderhead chest pack. Boo.
You can keep water in the back pocket by using a camelback water pouch. I use this with the drinking tube on a magnetic catch on the front left shoulder. I dont take extra reels etc but there's room for a sandwich. Great chest pack and I like mine. Only difficulty is putting my fishpond net through the retainer at the back when the back pocket is full, but it's possible with practice!
What size Camelback do you use? THANKS
No reason why it wouldn't enable you to catch some trout proved you can cast, mend and present fairly decently. My first fly rod was a 9'6" Shakespeare 6/7-weight that was on sale for about $30 in 2009. Caught some nice fish on it. Still use it occasionally although the blank doesn't have great 'feel' so it's fairly useless for things like nymphing. Swinging wets, streamers and even occasionally dry fly fishing, all worked with it though. There is no reason really to spend hundreds on a first fly rod or even a backup. One thing I noticed though on moving here to the US from Britain was that fly fishing gear was very often in the 'exclusive' category price-wise compared to back home where much more budget-friendly options were more widely available. Not necessarily better of course but definiteley less spendy overall. Great little piece. Thanks.
I tried this spot….getting to the spot was an expedition….AND I fell into the exact same hole that you did. Not the best experience for a noob like myself.
Had my first day out with gamechangers flies. I had the exact opposite experience. Fishing from the bank. My first cast ever with a gamechanger landed a bass. Granted most were small, but I continued to have excellent luck with a baby bluegill pattern gamechanger all afternoon. I'm casting them on an 8wt with floating line. Definitely think I'm switching to an intermediate sink tip line going forward.
Is this "fish weir shoals" by chance? I'm a noob and am looking for a local place to learn the craft. Great hat btw...Jeff Wright is a former student of mine.
I found that a 1.5L lumbar-style hydration bladder fits perfectly in the back portion of this pack- careful with other things not to poke a hole in it, but that's not a problem for me.
You can catch monstas on a zebco barbie rod. So I am sure a cheap combo fly set up would work. There is a much needed niche for less expensive beginner setups so you are not investing in a fishing technique you may not enjoy. That being said, when you start building your knowledge of fly fishing and techniques, whether nymphing, streamers or dry fly fishing the more expensive rods offer more sensitivity and feel becomes much more enjoyable to the user. Great content gentlemen
Only used this once but it is as expected. When you buy an ugly stick you know what you are getting! String rod but also sensitive enough to feel the bite.
Because of international shipping, they cost close to USD$1K to me. I can't even...
